Tickets

All scholastic ensemble concerts are free of charge and no tickets are required for entry.

This includes:

  • National Concert Band Festival at Clowes Memorial Hall and Schrott Center for the Performing Arts
  • Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival at Warren Performing Arts Cente
  • Orchestra America National Festival at The Palladium Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts
  • Chamber Music National Festival at Indiana Historical Society

Tickets and Admission to Concert Venues

Festival Package Holders: Every student and adult with a Festival Package has admission to most festival events, including either the Honor Band of America Concert or the Jazz Band of America Concert (ticketed event). Directors, students, and chaperones will be given a name badge that will admit them to all areas. Please ensure your students and chaperones wear their name badges to gain access to Festival activities.

Attendees without Festival Package: Non-package-holding attendees are still able to attend scholastic concerts for free. Honor Ensemble concert attendance requires the purchase of a ticket. Tickets can be purchased here:

Banquet Tickets

If you are not purchasing a festival package but would like to attend the High School Ensemble Banquet, Middle School Ensemble Banquet, or the Honor Ensemble Banquet, fill out this form to purchase individual banquet tickets.

Transportation

All transportation in and around the Indy metro area is the attendee’s responsibility. All official Festival hotels are all connected or within walking distance from one another in downtown Indianapolis. Venues are not within walking distance of hotels or each other. Be sure to look at a map in advance as you plan your transportation.

Driving in Indianapolis
Like other metropolitan areas, Indianapolis experiences rush hour times. The metropolitan area consists of a radius of approximately 20 miles from the downtown city center. Rush hour times in Indianapolis run from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please allow extra travel time for traffic and inclement weather.

Getting Around Indianapolis
The central core of downtown Indianapolis is compact.

  • The Festival hotels are connected by indoor pedestrian walkways to other downtown facilities, including the Circle Centre Mall and Indiana Convention Center.
  • Clowes Memorial Hall and Schrott Center for the Arts are 6.5 miles (20-minute drive) north of downtown on the campus of Butler University.
  • The Warren Performing Arts Center is 11.5 miles (20-minute drive) east of downtown.
  • The Palladium at Allied Solutions Center for the Arts is located 25 miles (35–40-minute drive) north of downtown Indianapolis, in Carmel.
  • The Indiana Historical Society is downtown, north of the J.W. Marriott.
Weather & Dress Guidelines

Weather
Indianapolis weather varies during March.
The average temperature is 45 degrees. Highs range from 30 to 60 degrees, and lows range from 20 to 40 degrees. 
Snow and/or rain is possible, so pack smart and check weather forecast before leaving home.

Dress Guidelines
The following dress guidelines have been issued to student and director attendees. You may wish to dress accordingly during your time in Indianapolis.

The expected dress at National Festival is business casual. Please avoid jeans, shorts, and casualwear during the week’s activities except for the Student Social. The Student Social is an opportunity for casualwear (jeans, t-shirts, etc.). For the Saturday evening banquets we ask that each ensemble dress in semi-formal attire (jacket/tie, concert attire, etc.).
