MAY 10, 2021, INDIANAPOLIS – Schools, venues, and organizations continue to navigate the impact and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With less than a month before the June 5, 2021 application deadline for the 2022 Music for All National Festival, it has become clear that those challenges impact potential applicant ensembles.
After much deliberation, Music for All has determined that it will be unable to hold the 2022 Music for All National Festival.
By cancelling this yearly event now for 2022, we can protect potential applicants from making travel and fundraising plans and from spending additional time preparing for the application. Cancellation now also allows directors to adjust their plans for the 2022 second semester.
“The decision to not hold the 2022 Festival is a consequence of COVID-19 and its lingering impact on schools, venues, and organizational soundness,” says Music for All President and CEO Jeremy Earnhart. “We look forward to being back with the Music for All National Festival in 2023.”
We encourage directors to consider participating in the 2021-2022 school year Affiliate Regional Music Festivals. The full schedule for Affiliate Regional Music Festivals will be updated soon at festival.musicforall.org/affiliates.
Enrollment is strong for Music for All’s 2021 Bands of America Championships scheduled in September, October, and November. Find the schedule of 2021 Bands of America Championships at marching.musicforall.org/boa.
